Quality Month - April - May 2014

As part of Hung Hing’s drive to raise and promote critical areas in the plants in an interactive, fun and informative way, in April – May Hung Hing’s Shenzhen plant held a Quality Month event.  This consisted of planned activities including asking for suggestions on good practice, training and competitions using quality tools (8D problem solving approach and quality control cycle), defective sample displays and a quality pledge.

Some of these activities can be seen here;

All designed to highlight, promote and train different teams on Hung Hing’s focus on quality and to set targets.  Samples were used for training, a quality banner was raised where all workers were able to sign and Press
Leaders were specifically set quality targets.  The Quality Month followed two previous campaigns including the Operational Health and Safety Month last December.  Responses to the events and results of the targets will continue to be monitored and reviewed.

As part of the initiatives for improved quality, an ISRA PDF / output verifier has been installed in Shenzhen’s Pre-Press Department.  This device can read PDFs and scan digital proofs to compare the images, spot discrepancies and any colour deviations between the two.  A report is then output highlighting the image and this helps to check any errors that have occurred during the pre-press processing stage.  This new equipment will be operational and used on specific pre-press jobs to check PDFs to proofs soon.
