Technical News - EU Timber Regulation

The EUTR came into force in March 2013, to combat illegally harvested timber / timber products being placed on the EU market.  This affects those that first place any timber products on the market with requirement to implement a due diligence system involving gathering information, risk assessment and risk mitigation.  Whilst printed products where the print is the essential part of the product such as books and brochures are exempt, other goods such as writing pads, notebooks and greeting cards are not.

Therefore, in order to help provide customers with any required information and to ensure appropriate materials are used to meet customer requirements, investigations and discussions continue with Hung Hing's pulp and paper suppliers.  Depending on destination and product, please do highlight any EUTR paper requirements at quotation stage which will then be followed.

Please do raise any queries with your Sales and Marketing Manager or Marketing Executive.
