As demonstrated in several audits recently, Hung Hing’s commitment to environmental issues and improving Health and Safety has been reflected in positive initiatives and results over the last year.  In 2013, Hung Hing’s Operational Health and Safety (OHS) records show continuous improvement over the course of 5 years;

1 represents 1 incident in 200,000 working hours to give the TIR (Total Incident Rate) and demonstrates continuous effort to reduce figures.  In 2013, Hung Hing conducted over 300,000 training hours for employees (Shenzhen and Heshan plants conducted 140,000 and 155,000 hours respectively).  Both plants organised an OHS campaign month to raise awareness with Shenzhen staging a successful Safety Production Night on 28th December as a recreational event with singing, dancing and training as well as an award ceremony to celebrate winning teams and personnel during the OHS campaign month.

Out of the 225,000T of paper used in production, over 43,000T was certified paper (FSC / PEFC),  177,000T of paper (including some of the certified papers) had high recycled content (over 80% post-consumer waste).  Both Heshan and Shenzhen plants have been awarded the Hang Seng Pan Pearl River Delta Green Medallist award for the 2012-2013 period.  This is given to factories with at least 3 audited green production initiatives.

After focussed efforts to reduce Carbon emissions, figures have now been confirmed as follows, showing emissions in tonnes of coal equivalent to per million RMB product each year over the course of the last 4 years;
